The Rigi cogwheel railway is a piece of Swiss railway history and a true engineering masterpiece. Opened in 1871, it was the first mountain railway in Europe and has since connected Vitznau and Arth-Goldau with the majestic Rigi. A ride on the cogwheel train is far more than just transport – it is an experience in itself. As the train slowly climbs the steep slopes, breathtaking views unfold over Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug, and the surrounding Alps.
